The guides

The guides (the retellings, character notes, themes, lessons and takeaways) are our own writing and are © Rat Race Reader. You’re welcome to quote short passages with a link back. Please don’t copy whole guides elsewhere.

The books

The works we write about are in the public domain, as are the translations we quote. Quotations are clearly marked and say where in the book they come from.

Accuracy

We work hard to get things right, and we list our sources. Even so, a guide is a reading of a book, not the book. Interpretations differ, and we may get a detail wrong. If you spot a mistake, please tell us at info@ratracereader.com.

For study

The guides are a way into a book, not a replacement for it. If you’re writing about a book for a course, read the book, and cite it.
